Define where you want to show your ads

Selecting your audience's location is essential for your ads to reach the right people.

The more specific your location is, the better I generate targeting interests.


Why Is It Important?

The location you choose determines:

  • Where your ads are shown (countries, cities, regions)

  • Which interests I suggest (relevant to that market)

  • Which language the copies use (adapted to the region)

Important: I use your location to generate more relevant targeting interests. For example, if you select "Medellín," I will look for interests specific to the Colombian market.

This way I better understand your market and generate more refined targeting interests.


How to Select Locations

Step 1: Search Locations

  1. In the search field, type the name of a country, city, or region

  2. You must type at least 2 characters

  3. A list of results will appear

Search examples:

  • "Colombia" → Entire country

  • "Bogotá" → Specific city

  • "California" → State/Region

You have the power to choose exactly where to show your ads.

Step 2: Select from the List

  1. Click on the desired location

  2. The location will be added to your selected list

  3. You can add multiple locations

Step 3: Review Selection

Selected locations appear in the "Selected locations" section:

  • You can see all added locations

  • Click on the X to remove a location

  • There is no limit to locations

You have full control from where your ads are shown.

Tip: For local businesses, select specific cities. For national e-commerce, select the entire country.


Recommendations by Business Type

Local Business (Restaurant, Physical Store)

  • Select your main city

  • Add nearby cities if you make deliveries

  • Example: "Medellín", "Envigado", "Itagüí"

National E-commerce

  • Select the entire country

  • Or the main cities where you deliver

  • Example: "Colombia" or "Bogotá", "Medellín", "Cali"

Digital Services

  • You can select multiple countries

  • Focus on markets where they speak your language

  • Example: "Colombia", "Mexico", "Spain"

You have the power to choose the perfect location for your business.


Important Information

Automatic Optimization

I automatically optimize locations:

  • I remove duplicates (if you select Colombia and Bogotá, I only use Colombia)

  • I group regions when it makes sense

  • I notify you of adjustments made

I explain in the interface what adjustments I make and why.

Change Location Later

To change the location after setting it up:

  1. Go to Set Up Your Business

  2. Find the location section

  3. Modify the selected locations

Note: Changing the location may require regenerating your Brief to update the suggested interests.

You have the power to change your location whenever you want.


Common Errors

"Location required"

Message: Please select at least one location before continuing.

Solution: You must select at least one location to continue. Use the search to add one.

"No results found"

Cause: The name does not match locations in Meta's database.

Solution:

  1. Check the spelling

  2. Try the name in English

  3. Use a more generic name (country instead of a small city)


Why Select Now

The location is used to:

  1. Generate the Brief with relevant local interests

  2. Configure strategies automatically

  3. Optimize the targeting of your ads

Example: If you select "Medellín", the AI will look for interests like "Feria de las Flores", "Parque Arví", "Medellín Metro" that are relevant to that audience.
