Solutions to the most common problems when connecting Meta Ads

This guide covers the most common errors when connecting and configuring Meta Ads in SaleAds.ai.

You have the power to resolve these problems. I explain how to fix them step by step.


Connection Issues

"Connection Failed"

Message: We couldn't connect your Meta account. Please try again.

Possible causes:

  1. Permissions not granted: You did not accept all requested permissions

  2. Session expired: Your Facebook session expired during the process

  3. Pop-up blocker: The authorization window was blocked

  4. Temporary Meta issue: Meta's servers are not responding

Solutions:

Solution 1: Retry

  1. Click on "Retry"

  2. Make sure to accept ALL permissions

  3. Do not close the pop-up window until you finish

Solution 2: Check pop-ups

  1. Check if your browser blocked a pop-up window

  2. Allow pop-ups for saleads.ai

  3. Try again

Solution 3: Clear session

  1. Log out of Facebook in another tab

  2. Log out of SaleAds.ai

  3. Log back into both

  4. Try connecting again

"Unexpected callback state"

Message: Unexpected callback state. Please try again.

Cause: Error during the OAuth authorization process.

Solution:

  1. Close the current window/tab

  2. Return to the SaleAds.ai Dashboard

  3. Go to Connected Accounts

  4. Try connecting again

You have the power to resolve this problem easily.


The Facebook window does not open

Causes:

  • Active pop-up blocker

  • Browser extensions interfering

  • Unsupported browser

Solution:

  1. Disable the pop-up blocker

  2. Try in incognito/private mode

  3. Use an up-to-date Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge

  4. Temporarily disable extensions

Business Manager Issues

"No Business Managers found"

Message: We couldn't find any Business Manager in your Meta account.

Causes:

  1. You don't have a Business Manager created

  2. You did not select the Business Managers during authorization

  3. Your Facebook account is not associated with any Business Manager

Solutions:

Solution 1: Create Business Manager

  1. Create a new Business Manager

  2. Return to SaleAds.ai

  3. Disconnect and reconnect Meta

Solution 2: Reconnect with all permissions

  1. Disconnect the Meta account

  2. Reconnect

  3. During authorization, select ALL Business Managers


"Error loading Business Managers"

Cause: Communication problem with the Meta API.

Solution:

  1. Click on "Retry"

  2. Wait 30 seconds and try again

  3. If it persists, try in 5-10 minutes

  4. Check the status of Meta services at metastatus.comarrow-up-right


Ad Account Issues

"No ad accounts found"

Message: No ad accounts were found for the selected Business Manager.

Causes:

  • The Business Manager has no ad accounts

  • You do not have permissions on the existing accounts

Solutions:

Solution 1: Create new account

  1. Click on "Create New Ad Account"

  2. Complete the information

  3. The account will be created in your Business Manager

Solution 2: Request access

  1. Contact the Business Manager administrator

  2. Request admin role on the ad account

  3. Return to SaleAds.ai and refresh


"Error creating the ad account"

Causes:

  • Account limit reached

  • Restrictions on your Facebook account

  • Temporary Meta error

Solution:

  1. Check if your Facebook account has restrictions

  2. Check the account limit in your Business Manager

  3. Create the account manually in Business Manager

  4. Return to SaleAds.ai to select it


Issues with Optional Assets

"No pages found"

Cause: The page is not added to the Business Manager.

Solution:

  1. Settings → Accounts → Pages

  2. Add your page

  3. Return to SaleAds.ai and refresh


"No pixels found"

Cause: There are no pixels created in the ad account.

Solution:

  1. Click on "Create New Pixel" in SaleAds.ai

  2. Or create the pixel manually in Events Manager


"No linked Instagram accounts"

Cause: Your Instagram account is not connected to the Facebook Page.

Solution:

  1. Open Instagram → Settings → Account

  2. Linked Accounts → Facebook

  3. Select your Facebook Page

  4. Return to SaleAds.ai and refresh

Requirement: The Instagram account must be a business or creator account.


Disconnect and Reconnect

If no solution works, you can disconnect completely and start over.

Steps to Disconnect

  1. Go to Connected Accounts

  2. In Meta Ads, click "Edit Configuration"

  3. Click on "Disconnect Meta account"

  4. Confirm: "Are you sure?""Disconnect"

  5. You will see: "Meta account disconnected successfully"

After Disconnecting

  • Your account returns to the "Not connected" state

  • You must reconnect and configure everything again

  • Existing strategies may be affected


Revoke Permissions from Facebook

If you want to completely remove SaleAds.ai access:

  1. Security and login → Apps and websites

  2. Search for SaleAds

  3. Click "Remove"

  4. Confirm the removal

Note: After revoking permissions, you will need to reconnect from scratch if you want to use SaleAds.ai again.


Save Errors

"Error saving the settings"

Causes:

  • Internet connection problem

  • Session expired

  • Server error

Solution:

  1. Check your internet connection

  2. Try saving again

  3. If it persists, reload the page and try again


"Validation failed"

Message: Please select a Business Manager and an Ad Account to continue.

Cause: Required fields not completed.

Solution:

  1. Make sure you have selected a Business Manager

  2. Make sure you have selected an Ad Account

  3. These two fields are required

  2. Note the steps you took
